The Old Whitgiftians Academy
sponsored by Milford Group Ltd

The Old Whitgiftians Cricket Club are proud to announce the formation of their new Academy.

The players in the academy range between 12 and 17 and were selected by our senior coaches - Head Coach Joey Benjamin and David Ward. Academy boys will receive specialised coaching in a variety of aspects of the game.

Launching the Academy, Chairman Stuart Woodrow said "The Old Whitgiftians CC have had a strong Colts section for many years. It has become evident that we needed this premium Academy to stretch our very best Colts aspiring to play senior adult cricket and for the County youth age group sides. We are delighted to have Joey Benjamin and David Ward on board to lead this exciting new venture and also have several guest coaches keen to assist from Surrey CCC including John Batty and Nad Shaheed who will be running sessions for us over the next few weeks. My thanks go to Gary Kenton and Brian Harris, our Colts organisers, for their hard work over recent weeks to make this exciting project happen. "

The first specialist coach will be Surrey and Pakistan's Saqlain Mushtaq who will grace the Whitgift School nets for both the Colts and Academy players this Wednesday 6th February from 7.30pm-9.30pm.
